At VDL ETS' Component Testing Lab, we test components under realistic and extreme conditions. From electric drivelines to cooling systems and battery packs - we validate performance, durability and safety to the highest standards.

Our approach: flexible, fast and accurate

Thanks to a modular test setup and advanced measurement and control technology, we can quickly switch between different test scenarios. We simulate thermal, mechanical and electrical loads to predict component behaviour in practice. Our test engineers work closely with development teams to design customised test programmes.

Shaker testing

Vibration testing to assess the durability of components under differten conditions.

Climate testing

Climate Testing together with additional needs. Conducting hydraulic tests in climate chambers allows us to simulate different environmental conditions as per customer requirements.

Chemical and corrosion testing

Our corrosion and chemical resistance testing facilities ensure that materials and components can withstand harsh environments and aggressive substances.

Intrusion testing

Our in-house developed velocity-controlled servo-hydraulic intrusion rig is designed for quasi-static high-load intrusion tests, meeting legal requirements such as MVSS214 and 216(A).

Pressure and burst testing

Evaluating the pressure limits and burst strenght of components.

Helium Leak testing

Components are tested under vacuum using helium as a tracer gas or various liquids to ensure they are completely leak-free under diverse conditions.

Strain gauge testing

Strain gauges provide a detailed picture of mechanical stress—translating physical deformation into precise electrical signals.

3D measurement

Precision at your fingertips: quickly and accurately measure complex parts with the portable FARO 3D measuring arm.

3D scanner

With the Revopoint MetroX blue laser scanner, we can transform any physical part or component into a 3D model. Using a 62 lines of blue full-field structured light, the scanner can capture all details of real-world items.
