Inside the VDL ETS Hydraulic Testing Labs: Precision at Work!

At VDL ETS, our hydraulic testing labs are where components undergo rigorous trials to ensure they meet the highest performance and safety standards.

 

Here’s a glimpse into what we do:

Pressure Testing: We expose hydraulic systems to extreme pressures, far beyond normal operating conditions, to check their durability and ensure they won't fail under stress. For instance, a component rated at 250 bar burst at 1000 bar.

Temperature Cycling: Hydraulic systems operate in various environments- from freezing cold to scorching heat. We simulate these conditions, cycling between temperatures as low as -40°C to highs of 200°C to ensure components remain reliable.

Leakage and Sealing Tests: Hydraulic components are only as good as their seals. We monitor for micro-leaks under high pressure to prevent issues such as energy loss or contamination in real-world operations.

Endurance Testing: We simulate thousands of operation cycles to replicate years of use in a matter of days. For example, a hydraulic pump might run non-stop for 500 hours under varying loads ranging 1to 250 kN test its long-term performance.

Flow Analysis: By measuring the flow rate and resistance in hydraulic circuits, we optimize efficiency and pinpoint potential bottlenecks.

Durability and moments: This assessment evaluates the component`s structural integrity, ensuring it can withstand bending, twisting, or rotational stresses without compromising performance. For example, the cylinders simulates a braking moment within the product.

We adapt to clients` requirements by designing and constructing custom test stands. Through collaboration with OEMs, we ensure that products meet the required standards and provide detailed reports for product verification and improvement.
