Autonomous mobility has the potential to make public transport safer, more efficient and more accessible. As a pioneer in automated transport systems, 2getthere has been demonstrating the practical application of autonomous driving technology for decades. As part of VDL Groep, VDL ETS contributes to the development, validation and continuous improvement of technologies that enable fully autonomous vehicles to operate safely and reliably in real-world environments.
The autonomous systems developed within 2getthere are designed for applications such as public transport, airports, business parks, campuses and urban mobility networks. By combining advanced software, intelligent vehicle control systems and robust safety mechanisms, these vehicles are capable of operating without a driver while maintaining high levels of safety, availability and passenger comfort.
Autonomous vehicles rely on the seamless integration of hardware and software. VDL ETS supports this through its expertise in system integration, software development, vehicle control systems and testing & validation. Extensive simulation, validation and operational testing ensure that autonomous vehicles can function reliably in complex and dynamic environments.
With autonomous vehicle systems operating around the world, 2getthere is a proven example of how autonomous mobility can move beyond pilot projects and become an integral part of modern transportation networks. The project demonstrates the role of VDL ETS in developing smart mobility solutions that help cities and operators address challenges such as congestion, sustainability and accessibility while shaping the future of public transport.
